And with that...

...we launched  Rorasuketo. I had a lot of fun last night on the webcast. While I didn't enjoy all of our tech problems (both Mike and Tiffany were having chaotic days, so we did not have time to test our ill-fated Zoom call), I was surprised by how much we all had to talk about as the night went on. Thank you so much to everyone who came by in the chat to say hello, ask questions, and generally make us look cooler. And a big thank you to Mike, who took a peek in the actual Steam files and noticed that the folder was called "Rorasuketo Alpha 1.05," which made me just about shit my pants. On Steam, there are several buttons you have to hit to make a build go live, and I had forgotten one of them. After about a half an hour of panicking - and an error I still cannot replicate or understand - we managed to update things, and v1.00 is what is now live. If your version of  Rorasuketo  still says Alpha on the title screen, please reboot Steam, restart your computer, pray to wha...

Can I play Rorasuketo on my Mac?

There has been a lot of confusion about Macintosh compatibility, and I am still trying to wrap my head around it. I might need to adjust this later, but here's my current understanding. Take with salt, and feel free to do your own searching. Do please correct me if I'm grossly incorrect. Short, "safe" answer: Rorasuketo  will run on your Mac for a year with Rosetta 2. But in a year, Apple will make big changes that may stop many apps, including  Rorasuketo , from running. ( See the section below titled "So, if you are on a Macintosh, should you buy/play  Rorasuketo?" ) Longer, more accurate and nuanced answer: Rorasuketo  is Intel-based, and Apple has been trying to move away from Intel-based apps. In fall 2027, Apple says they will stop supporting the workaround known as Rosetta 2, and some apps will no longer run natively .  If you open Rorasuketo on a Mac as of this writing, you will get a warning about support for Intel-based apps, but this does not prev...

On sales goals.

I've had the pleasure of reading a few very kind and encouraging comments from the sum of  Rorasuketo's  online presence. Folks, know that when you do that kind of thing, it pays huge dividends for a tired indie game developer. People took time out of their day to look at my thing, and they felt compelled to take even more time to let me know they liked it. That's incredible! There's this weird experience I am having lately where I look around, trying to make sure people are walking around me and not through me, and I am, in fact, real. And I think to myself, "It's almost like this is a legitimate thing I am doing." And  it is,  by most measurements I'm aware of. Or at least it kind of looks like it is. When putting  Rorasuketo  on Steam, someone told me that I should set a goal for sales. I thought up a very, very small number - because I have occasional delusions of grandeur - and have kept telling myself that  that is the number that will make me h...

Ahhh, the French... champagne.

We are keeping it classy around here. It's not Dom Perignon, but it will do fine! I welcome you to join me at the start of the webcast in treating yourself to a little bubbly. Whether it be LaCroix, sparkling cider, a porter, or the good stuff, it will be great partying with you! Also, have a secondary container ready. One day to go! 6P Eastern/3P Pacific TOMORROW!
